Photos taken by US Special Operations forces show aftermath of strike that killed Soleimani
U.S. Special Operations forces on the ground in Iraq were following a convoy carrying Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani when it was struck by an American drone last week, killing Soleimani and nine others, Fox News has learned.
The operation to killed Qassem Soleimani went far beyond a drone strike and included U.S. Army Special Operation forces on the ground.

The photos were taken by a team US Special Operations forces that followed Soleimani's convoy as it left the Baghdad International Airport and were about a half-mile behind it when the missile struck. The team was able to be on site within just a few minutes to perform a damage assessment and confirm Soleimani's death.
Photos too graphic in nature depicting Soleimani dismembered body were not released.
Photos below reportedly show Soleimani's last meetings with Shiite fighters in eastern Syria, near the border with Iraq, just hours before his death.
