Iran State TV's anchor resigns saying, “It was very hard for me to believe the killing of my countrymen. I apologize for lying to you on TV for 13 years.”
Gelare Jabbari posted her resignation to Instagram, informing the public that she was leaving her job as news anchor for Iran State TV, and apologizing for lying on behalf of the regime for the last 13 years.
Jabbari is the latest in a string of high-profile Iranians openly protesting the actions of the government, as popular anger continues to swell in the wake of the downing of a Ukrainian airliner by regime air defenses.
Ordinary Iranians continue to show incredible courage in the face of a brutal regime, overcoming their fears and heading back into the streets just weeks after the murder of over 1,500 of their countrymen.
The Iranian people want their country back. They, not this regime, are the true sovereigns of Iran. Give them your support, and don’t even think about negotiating with their oppressors. Now is the time to choose: either the people of Iran or the regime.#IranProtests pic.twitter.com/WbiAHwowX6— Saeed Ghasseminejad (@SGhasseminejad) January 13, 2020

Crisis of confidence continues in #Iran. At least 2 IRIB anchors have quit their jobs. Our blood is spilling over the streets, but crazy Nancy says it's not, only thinks about party struggles and opposition to President Trump and help the mullahs' regime!
