Husband and wife owners of an ice cream shop in Harris County, Texas fought off a would-be robber that they feared was armed during an attempted robbery of their store on Saturday, February 1.
After witnessing the attempted robbery, wife Nadia calmly got up from her seat, made sure her kids were safely out of harm's way in the back of the store and retrieved her gun. She then took aim and shot at the robber. Husband Jorge can be seen in the video chasing the suspect out of the store.
“You know, my husband could be dead right now and I wanted to start crying and I got nervous. And I was gonna have a breakdown, thinking okay, could it happen,” Nadia told KTRK/ABC13. “I hope he learned his lesson. and I hope that everybody who can see [this thinks] twice about it next time.”
“It's not that easy to just walk into a business and say, 'Give me the money.'” This is especially true when the store owner is armed.
Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators say the same man is also the prime suspect in at least seven other robberies across the area dating back to early January.
