The Democratic Party reportedly asked Twitter to do something about an edited video the Trump reelection campaign produced of former Vice President Joe Biden.

The latest details provide further insight into Twitter's decision to apply its new ‘manipulated media’ label to a video retweeted by President Trump. Democratic National Committee operatives flagged the video to Twitter, according to the report, as part of their program to clamp down on the spread of “disinformation” in 2020.
“This is an example of our ongoing disinformation work, and the same thing that we do for every campaign,” a DNC official said, adding that they “flag activity to each of the campaigns, and have set them up with tools to receive regular activity alerts themselves.”
In its maiden deployment, Twitter's new label suffered a glitch for some users, which provided more fodder for those that believe the new policy has been implemented hastily in an effort to limit the exposure of a gaffe-prone Biden.
Andrew Clark, the rapid response director for the Trump campaign, reacted sharply after Twitter caved to media pressure on behalf of the Biden campaign and labeled the video manipulated.
“The Biden campaign is scared as hell that voters will see the flood of unedited and embarrassing verbal stumbles that will continue go viral if ‘Status Quo Joe’ is the nominee,” he told Fox News. “Twitter shouldn’t be an enforcement arm of Joe Biden’s campaign strategy, but if they choose to police every video clip they must hold his own campaign to the same standard,” he added.
