For more than two years now, Walid Phares has kept a secret. The national security expert favored by many conservatives was interviewed and investigated in the Russia collusion probe, mostly for an issue unrelated to Moscow. It was Egypt, actually. The allegation — like many in the Russia case — turned out to be spurious, and Phares was never charged with wrongdoing by Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team.

“You know, as an American citizen seeing those exchanges, it kind of shocks me,” he said. “We live in a liberal democracy. But it elevates my suspicion that there is something at a higher level that was happening, because to stop a president, I mean, this is something that in our American history we haven't seen before.”

Why did the @nytimes define me as "a Lebanese born Maronite Christian" in their hit piece? Isn't it known enough in the past 30 years? Do they define #HenryKissinger as German born Jewish immigrant or #ZbignewBrzezinski as Polish born Catholic immigrant at every mention of them?— Walid Phares (@WalidPhares) June 17, 2020
The FBI investigated @carterwpage & falsified his #FISA to spy on him - lied about @realDonaldTrump and #Flynn -now unscrupulously leaks rumors, lies against @WalidPhares. Why? Slandering a man who hasn’t been charged w anything https://t.co/CJAD87qsdF— Sara A. Carter (@SaraCarterDC) June 17, 2020
There were reportedly links between Bin Laden and Iran and Obama didn’t want anyone to find these links. Flynn was after the links, if any, when Obama shut down his attempts to review the Bin Laden materials.https://t.co/ZpSoIfOJ7g via @gatewaypundit— Carla Chamorro (@CarlaChamorros) June 18, 2020
