Up until a few weeks ago, late June or early July, media constantly polled Americans’ attitudes toward the ongoing street protests over the death of George Floyd. Those polls consistently found that Americans generally supported the protests. But if you Google “poll Americans reactions to city violence” you’ll see something interesting.
There's also a marked lack of media curiosity toward the protesters' motivating beliefs. Over at The Federalist, David Marcus asks why the media isn't talking directly to protesters to find out what they're actually all about.
We are coming to know who these people are, so why aren’t we hearing directly from them? Over at The Post Millennial they have a breakdown of four people, all white, two attorneys, who were recently arrested and charged in the clashes in Portland. Why aren’t CNN or the New York Times reaching out to these people to explain why they think arson, shooting fireworks, throwing bricks, or Molotov cocktails is justified?
Pro tip for our dumpster fire media: Nothing a group like Antifa says should be taken at face value. Your job is to find out who people really are, instead of just accepting Antifa calling them "moms." Here's the video of the riots in Portland that the media does not want you to see.— Andrew Clark (@AndrewHClark) July 24, 2020
This is what Joe Biden referred to as "peaceful" and blamed law enforcement for the violence. pic.twitter.com/490zQDI8Py

A convicted pedophile and Antifa militant was arrested for stabbing a Black conservative at the Portland riot last night and no one is talking about it. This is everything wrong with the media.— Ian Miles Cheong (@stillgray) July 25, 2020

Since we are back to riots again it seems quite odd no one in the media is concerned or outraged of a potential spread of the coronavirus in Portland.— Kambree (@KamVTV) July 23, 2020
Funny how that selectively works.
It’s not, and you’d think people could see though the absurd claim, but the claim is reported uncritically by much of the media. https://t.co/NETvMuE4Xd— Brit Hume (@brithume) July 24, 2020
How can ANYONE watch what's happening in Portland & not be affected?, @marklevinshow asks.— BlazeTV (@BlazeTV) July 25, 2020
Police are on the ground! It's happened in Seattle, in NYC — so why are the media outlets covering these dangerous riots like a day of bad weather? It's appalling! pic.twitter.com/jJW0phV90r
.@nytimes is intentionally lying about the situation in Portland— ELIJAH RIOT (@ElijahSchaffer) July 25, 2020
This carefully edited video is exactly what’s wrong with American media
Feds only retaliate when rioters commit crimes like arson, climb the barrier, shoot fireworks & throw projectiles at the building/officers https://t.co/jPXCn4SbBd
