Riot and protest instigators plan to “make sure Trump leaves the White House” by any means necessary after the Nov. 3 election, according to website posts from the group Shut Down DC and their allies. “We’re making plans to be in the streets before the polls even close, ready to adapt and respond to whatever comes our way,” the group says on its website currently.

“The Trump administration’s current efforts to mobilize the Department of Justice to criminalize dissent and retaliate against political opponents will only escalate as he continues to lose his grip on power,” the website states. “We also recognize that forcing Trump from office is the only way to protect ourselves and the people we love from Trump’s wrath, so we will act with the urgency that the situation requires.”
Shut Down DC also details its course of action for election night and the week following, saying it plans to “do whatever it takes” and “now’s the time to get involved so we’re ready to hit the streets.”
In the days following the election we’ll continue to come out into the streets every day to respond to rapidly changing events. We may be waiting for votes to be counted or we may be responding to major attacks on democracy. Over the next few weeks we’ll use our Spokes Council process to plan actions that are flexible and can scale to respond to a lot of different scenarios.
We’ve been training, researching and organizing for months and now that election day is just around the corner. Here's our plan (thread): https://t.co/hS9PIAxIod— ShutDownDC (@ShutDown_DC) October 18, 2020
